Our Story
Danton Abi Wedding Newspapers is a literal labour of love. It all started with our own wedding invitations. We wanted our invites to be fun and full of our personalities. And what’s more fitting for a graphic designer and a writer than a newspaper?
The Danton Abi Herald, as we punnily called our paper, was a hit with our friends and family. Everyone insisted we should start a business — so, we took their advice! Now we get to share our passion for print with other couples looking for a unique way to celebrate their big news and tell the stories of their love. We can’t wait to send yours to press!

Newspapers played a pertinent role in Dan’s youth. From writing fictional newsletters with his friends to his daily paper rounds, he was never far from ink and paper growing up. Now, he loves the nostalgia of a good wedge of chip shop paper.
Dan has 20 years of graphic design experience. Working predominantly in children’s publishing, Dan has also dabbled in a wide range of media, from wrestling event promotion to music merchandise to local magazines. He holds a BA in Graphic Design and also studied journalism — but don’t ask to see his shorthand!

Abi wrote her first novel aged four. Kanga the Kangaroo might not have been a commercial success, but it sparked a lifelong love of writing that led her down many creative paths. She loves writing poetry, from humorous limericks to ponderous confessionals, and is currently working on her first fantasy novel.
Abi holds an MA in Creative Writing with Distinction and won the University of Surrey Creative Writing Prize for Excellence in Writing. In her work life, she conducts user experience research and provides organisational development consultancy for mental health charities, bringing a range of professional (and nerdy) skills to Danton Abi Wedding Newspapers.
